New Delhi, Sep 27 (NationPress) On Saturday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will travel to Odisha to lay the foundation stone and inaugurate numerous development initiatives valued at over Rs 60,000 crore in Jharsuguda, according to an official statement.

These initiatives encompass various sectors, such as telecommunications, railways, higher education, healthcare, skill development, and rural housing, among others. The Prime Minister will also speak to a public assembly during this event.

In terms of telecom connectivity, the Prime Minister will unveil more than 97,500 mobile 4G towers constructed at an expenditure of approximately Rs 37,000 crore utilizing Swadeshi technology, as stated in the announcement.

This includes upwards of 92,600 4G technology sites set up by BSNL.

More than 18,900 4G sites have been financed under the Digital Bharat Nidhi, which aims to connect about 26,700 unconnected villages in remote, border, and left-wing extremism-impacted regions, serving over 20 lakh new subscribers, the statement elaborated.

These towers are powered by solar energy, making them India's largest cluster of green telecom sites, representing a significant advancement in sustainable infrastructure.

The Prime Minister will also lay the foundation stone and dedicate vital railway projects that are set to enhance connectivity and regional progress.

Among these are the foundation stone for a Rail Flyover at Sambalpur–Sarla, the dedication of the doubled Koraput–Baiguda line, and the Manabar–Koraput–Gorapur line.

These projects are expected to substantially enhance freight and passenger transit in Odisha and neighboring states, thereby bolstering local industries and commerce.

During the event, the Prime Minister will also launch the Amrit Bharat Express between Berhampur and Udhna (Surat), which will provide affordable and convenient connectivity across states, promote tourism, create job opportunities, and connect key economic districts.

Furthermore, PM Modi will lay the foundation stones for the expansion of eight IITsTirupati, Palakkad, Bhilai, Jammu, Dharwad, Jodhpur, Patna, and Indore—with an investment of around Rs 11,000 crore.
