PM Modi's Kerala Campaign Signals NDA's Growing Influence
Synopsis
Key Takeaways
Coimbatore, March 29 (NationPress) Prime Minister Narendra Modi is gearing up to campaign in the election-bound state of Kerala this Sunday, where he is scheduled to speak at a rally and participate in a roadshow.
“I’m eagerly anticipating my time with the people of Keralam later today. I will address a rally in Palakkad and subsequently engage in a roadshow in Thrissur. The sentiment in Keralam appears to be leaning towards the NDA. The citizens are growing weary of the inadequate governance provided by the LDF and UDF,” PM Modi stated in a social media update prior to his trip.
He will briefly transit through Coimbatore in Tamil Nadu before heading to Kerala, prompting extensive security measures.
In light of increased political activity in the area, officials have initiated a large-scale security operation to guarantee the Prime Minister’s safety. Senior police representatives have confirmed that various zones in and around Coimbatore have been designated as high-security areas, with stringent restrictions on both air and ground transport. Drone operations have been completely prohibited in sensitive regions under Coimbatore Rural Police, including Neelambur, Chinthamanipudur, Chettipalayam, Madhukarai, Ettimadai, and Walayar.
These restrictions will remain effective until Sunday evening and are part of a larger strategy to ensure the safety of airspace during VVIP movements. Within the city, key arterial roads like Avinashi Road, Peelamedu, Kalapatti, and Singanallur have been categorized as “Red Zones.”
Access in these areas is being closely monitored, with checkpoints and surveillance systems operational around the clock. Approximately 5,000 security personnel from various agencies have been deployed, supported by a multi-layered security framework at Coimbatore Airport and its adjacent locations.
Advanced surveillance technologies and coordinated control centers have been established to manage the operation in real-time.
PM Modi is expected to arrive in Coimbatore by air before continuing to Kerala via helicopter. His visit is timed with the ramping up of campaign efforts ahead of the Kerala Assembly elections, which are set for April 9.
In Kerala, the Prime Minister will hold a public rally in Palakkad and later participate in a roadshow in Thrissur, promoting candidates from the National Democratic Alliance, including Padmaja Venugopal, in what is perceived as a critical outreach initiative.
