This tragic event unfolded on Friday evening within the jurisdiction of the Junawai Police Station in Sambhal district.
A Bolero vehicle, reportedly traveling at high speed, lost control and crashed into the wall of Janata Inter College in Junawai. The force of the collision was so intense that the vehicle overturned, resulting in the instant death of five passengers, including the groom.
After the accident, five passengers who were critically injured were transported to Aligarh for medical care. Tragically, three of them—identified as Ravi, Komal, and Madhu—succumbed to their injuries en route, raising the total fatalities to eight. The other two injured individuals are currently receiving treatment at Aligarh Medical College.
According to law enforcement, all victims hailed from Hargovindpur village under the Junawai police station jurisdiction and were on their way to Bilsi in Budaun district as part of a wedding procession.
What was intended to be a joyous celebration turned into a dreadful catastrophe for the families involved. Local witnesses reported that the Bolero was being driven recklessly, leading to the driver losing control before crashing.
Upon learning of the accident, Sambhal Superintendent of Police Krishna Kumar Vishnoi and Additional SP Anukriti Sharma swiftly arrived at the location. The vehicle was so badly damaged that rescuers had to use a JCB machine to extract the trapped victims.
