Police Officer Ends Life Amid Allegations of Abuse by Spouse and In-Laws in Bengaluru

Bengaluru, Dec 14 (NationPress) In a case that has sparked public outrage, a police officer tragically ended his life, allegedly due to abuse inflicted by his spouse and her family members on Saturday. The victim has been identified as 34-year-old H.C. Thippanna, a Head Constable stationed at the Hulimavu Traffic Police Station in Bengaluru.

Thippanna succumbed to his fate on Friday night, found on the railway tracks between Heelalige Railway Station and Carmelaram Husaguru Railway Gate in Bengaluru, according to police reports.

In his suicide note, he held his wife and father-in-law accountable for leading him to this tragic decision.

His remains have been moved to the hospital mortuary.

The Byappanahalli Railway Police have initiated an investigation into the case.

Importantly, Thippanna was in police uniform at the time of his death.

In his note, Thippanna expressed: "I am taking this drastic step due to the unbearable torture from my wife. My father-in-law, Yamunappa, issued me threats. He called me on December 12 at 7:26 p.m. and spoke for 14 minutes, threatening my life.

"When I returned his call the following morning, he told me to die, insisting that his daughter would be better off without me. He also subjected me to verbal abuse," the note disclosed.

The police have filed charges under Sections 108, 351(3), and 352 of the Bharatiya Nyay Sanhita (BNS).

Thippanna originated from Handiganuru village near Sindhagi town in the Vijayapura district.

Previously, Atul Subhash, employed at an automobile firm, reportedly took his life in Bengaluru after being demanded a divorce settlement of Rs 3 crore. Subhash ended his life in his apartment early Tuesday, leaving behind a 90-minute video and a suicide note detailing the harassment he faced from his wife Nikita Singhania and her family.

His note stated: "If the court finds the corrupt judge, my wife, and other harassers not guilty, then scatter my ashes in a gutter outside the court. Do not perform my 'asthi visarjan' until my harassers are punished."

Atul Subhash had reached out via email to President Droupadi Murmu and the Supreme Court, pleading for intervention on behalf of abused husbands and urging for the arrest of his wife, mother-in-law, and others involved in his case.

He also shared a link on X, tagging his video to CEO Elon Musk and US President-elect Donald Trump.

"A deceased man is asking Elon Musk and Donald Trump to save countless lives from woke ideologies, abortion, DEI (diversity, equity, and inclusion), and to restore freedom of speech in India. I will be dead by the time you read this. A legal genocide against men is occurring in India right now," the suicide note concluded.
