Jaipur, April 4 (NationPress) A tragic incident occurred early Saturday morning when a car collided with the back of a trailer on the Jaipur–Bandikui Expressway, leading to the untimely death of Sub-Inspector (SI) Hanuman Meena (55), who was serving at the Sapotra Police Station in Karauli.

Three individuals, including two constables, sustained injuries in the crash and are currently receiving treatment at the district hospital in Dausa. Reports from local police indicate that their condition is stable.

The accident took place around 5 a.m. in proximity to Nangal Bela village (Channel Number 39), within the jurisdiction of Aandhi Police Station in Jaipur Rural.

Police teams promptly arrived at the scene following the report and transported the injured to the hospital for care. SI Hanuman Meena's body was also sent for post-mortem examination.

Investigations reveal that the car was transporting personnel from the Sapotra Police Station returning from Meerut via Delhi after work on a case. The group had taken a break for food near Delhi around 2:00 a.m. before continuing their journey back to Karauli.

One of the injured, Rumnaresh Meena, noted that all passengers had dozed off shortly after resuming their travel. SI Hanuman Meena was seated in the front next to the driver, while Ramnaresh Meena, Kajod Jat, and Ramraj Bairwa were positioned in the back.

The latter two are also constables assigned to the same police station. Initial investigations suggest that the speeding car collided with the trailer ahead on the expressway. Authorities suspect that the driver may have fallen asleep, resulting in the crash. Another potential factor under investigation is that the trailer may have braked suddenly, giving the car's driver minimal time to react.

The driver of the car escaped without injuries. Meanwhile, police officials are conducting a thorough investigation to determine the precise cause of this tragic accident.

The tragic death of SI Hanuman Meena highlights the dangers faced by police officers in the line of duty, even during routine travel. This incident serves as a stark reminder of road safety and the need for vigilance while driving.
