Chennai, Jan 3 (NationPress) The Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, M. K. Stalin, is set to officially inaugurate the distribution of Pongal gift hampers on January 8 in Chennai, according to credible sources.

As the much-anticipated annual welfare initiative approaches, there are indications that the state government may soon disclose whether a cash component will accompany the traditional Pongal gift packages.

Pongal, a major harvest festival celebrated with immense zeal across Tamil Nadu, includes a variety of cultural and family festivities.

Each year, the state government ensures that Pongal gift hampers are distributed through the Public Distribution System (PDS), allowing individuals from all walks of life to celebrate the festival with joy and dignity.

The inauguration of the Pongal gift hamper distribution is expected to initiate the process across the entire state.

Sources suggest that Chief Minister Stalin might also make an official announcement regarding the distribution of cash assistance in conjunction with the gift hampers.
