Patna, June 23 (NationPress) Union Minister Prahlad Joshi has publicly condemned Bihar's Leader of the Opposition Tejashwi Yadav for his statements regarding Prime Minister Narendra Modi, labeling them as groundless and irresponsible.
Joshi made these remarks while addressing the media following the inauguration of a steel grain silo in Pasraha, located in the Gogri block of Khagaria district.
The newly established facility is designed with a storage capacity of 50,000 metric tonnes to enhance food security in the area.
The event saw the participation of Bihar Minister Lesy Singh and local MP Rajesh Kumar.
In response to Tejashwi Yadav’s recent comments, where he referred to PM Modi as a “liar”, “pickpocket”, and “big artist”, Joshi retorted, “How can someone who has lying embedded in his DNA accuse the Prime Minister of lying? It is the Modi government that has actually delivered on the promises made to the poor.”
He further emphasized that poverty levels in India have significantly declined under PM Modi’s administration, referencing data from the World Bank.
“From the Nehru era to Rahul Gandhi, Congress only offered slogans like 'Garibi Hatao'. But under PM Modi, the percentage of people living below the poverty line has decreased from 25 percent to 5 percent,” he stated.
Tejashwi Yadav had previously criticized PM Modi’s recent rally in Siwan, accusing him of misusing public funds.
“PM Modi has held over 200 rallies in Bihar since 2014, each costing around Rs 100 crore. All of this is funded by taxpayers' money,” Tejashwi asserted in earlier comments.
“We do not want a pickpocket Prime Minister. The Prime Minister reads from a teleprompter and lacks genuine understanding of Bihar’s ground realities,” Yadav had said on June 20.
Joshi dismissed these allegations, highlighting that public outreach is an essential aspect of democratic accountability and characterizing such claims as politically motivated.
