Patna, Aug 29 (NationPress) BJP MP and former Union Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad on Friday vehemently condemned Congress MP Rahul Gandhi and RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav for allegedly making offensive comments regarding Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his deceased mother during the ‘Voters Adhikar Yatra’ in Darbhanga.

Addressing journalists in Patna, Prasad stated, “What do Congress members think? How much arrogance do they possess? They even disrespected the Prime Minister’s late mother.”

The BJP leader further accused Congress supporters of initiating violence during a protest outside the Congress state headquarters, Sadaqat Ashram, where BJP activists had gathered.

“Our members went to demonstrate peacefully, but Congress supporters assaulted them with sticks, bricks, and stones. One BJP member sustained serious injuries. An FIR has been filed, and we demand stringent police action,” Prasad asserted.

He also claimed that Congress has a history of disparaging Prime Minister Modi.

“Congress has insulted PM Modi 107 times so far. However, neither Rahul Gandhi, nor Sonia Gandhi, nor Tejashwi Yadav has ever issued an apology. Every time they insult, they face electoral defeats,” he remarked.

Regarding the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of the voter list, Prasad expressed his support for the Election Commission.

“The Election Commission has removed names of individuals who are deceased and those not residing here. Congress and RJD are misleading the public and disrespecting voters. They must cease questioning the integrity of the electoral process,” he stated.

In response to Rahul Gandhi’s recent comments, Prasad accused him of disseminating misinformation.

“He mentions ration cards being confiscated, pledges jobs through a jalebi factory — when everyone knows jalebi is made in syrup, not in a factory. Rahul Gandhi fabricates stories about development. If Tejashwi Yadav continues to follow him, he too will jeopardize his political career,” the BJP leader concluded.

Reflecting on the Emergency period, Prasad questioned Rahul Gandhi’s silence regarding past injustices.

“We were imprisoned under MISA during the Emergency. Has Rahul Gandhi ever offered an apology for that?” he inquired.

Highlighting the NDA government’s welfare initiatives, he announced,

“The NDA government in Bihar has made a groundbreaking decision today — financial aid of Rs 2 lakh will be allocated to foster women’s employment.”
