Patna, Sep 2 (NationPress) Following a pointed critique by Prime Minister Narendra Modi during his online rally on Tuesday, where he alleged that derogatory comments were made about his mother by party affiliates on the Mahagathbandhan platform, the RJD has firmly rejected these claims. They asserted that there is no link between the accused and the party and emphasized that regardless of whose mother she is, she is esteemed by all.
RJD spokesperson Chittaranjan Gagan dismissed the allegations as unfounded.
“The RJD has vehemently condemned anyone who has uttered disrespectful words concerning the Prime Minister's mother and has called for decisive action against the individual responsible. The police inquiry has already confirmed that the accused is not affiliated with the RJD. Furthermore, no RJD official was even present near the stage from which such comments originated. If the Prime Minister continues to blame the RJD, it clearly indicates his attempt to make unsubstantiated claims to elicit public sympathy,” Gagan remarked.
The RJD spokesperson reiterated that no matter whose mother she is, she is honourable for everyone.
He countered the BJP’s allegations of disrespect towards mothers by referencing several instances where female leaders or relatives of opposition figures were disparaged by BJP representatives.
“The mother of Tejashwi Yadav, who was Bihar’s only woman Chief Minister and is presently the Leader of Opposition in the Legislative Council, was insulted by a BJP MLA in the Assembly. Sonia Gandhi, mother of Rahul Gandhi, the Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha, has been derogatorily labeled as a 'bar owner', 'Congress widow', and 'Jersey cow'. Rahul Gandhi himself was ridiculed as a 'hybrid'. Mamata Banerjee faced mockery with the 'Didi O Didi' remark. A female MP was insulted as 'Surpanakha'. Even the spouse of an MP was disparaged as the 'Rs 50 lakh girlfriend,'” Gagan pointed out, highlighting the derogatory remarks directed at mothers and women from political families by the BJP.
He further accused Union Ministers and BJP spokespersons of using terms such as 'hybrid', 'mujra performer', 'buffalo thief', and others against opposition leaders and their families.
Gagan concluded by asserting that the BJP’s strategy of creating controversy through falsehood indicates its anxiety about retaining power.
“This tactic of the BJP to fabricate an atmosphere of lies will ultimately backfire,” he stated.
