New Delhi, July 31 (NationPress) President Droupadi Murmu emphasized the importance of developing a keen clinical sense and sensitive communication skills among doctors, enabling them to provide compassionate guidance to patients.

During the inaugural convocation ceremony of AIIMS Deoghar in Jharkhand, she urged medical professionals to prioritize inclusive healthcare in their personal practices.

“Attending AIIMS is often seen as a mark of becoming a proficient doctor,” President Murmu noted, advising graduates, “to excel not only as skilled practitioners but also as empathetic caregivers.”

“A commendable physician should cultivate a sharp clinical intuition alongside empathic communication skills. We’ve all encountered doctors whose consultations leave patients and their families feeling reassured,” she stated.

She added, “While it is essential for doctors to be precise in their diagnoses and surgical procedures, it is equally important that they approach patients with warmth and understanding.”

The President highlighted the government's commitment to reducing out-of-pocket healthcare expenses for citizens on a national level.

“Institutions like AIIMS Deoghar and their medical professionals have both institutional and individual responsibilities in this national endeavor,” she remarked, encouraging the collaboration of all stakeholders to identify and strive towards the Sustainable Development Goals related to health and medicine.

“Our nation has ambitious healthcare objectives to achieve. Institutions like AIIMS will play a crucial role in meeting these national aspirations,” President Murmu affirmed.

Referring to them as “beacons illuminating the darkness,” she called on these institutions to deliver top-tier specialist medical care at affordable rates while also acting as catalysts for change within the healthcare landscape.
