Prime Minister Modi Celebrates Christmas at the Home of Union Minister George Kurian

New Delhi, Dec 19 (NationPress) Prime Minister Narendra Modi attended the Christmas celebrations at the home of Union Minister George Kurian on Thursday, where he engaged with distinguished members of the Christian community, underscoring the spirit of cultural inclusivity and festivity.
The event served as a platform for PM Modi to connect with key figures from the Christian community, reaffirming the government's dedication to strengthening relations with this religious group.
In a message shared on the social media platform X, PM Modi remarked: "Participated in the Christmas celebrations at Union Minister George Kurian Ji's residence. Engaged with esteemed members of the Christian community @GeorgekurianBjp."
Earlier on June 9, George Kurian, the General Secretary of the Kerala BJP unit, took office as a Union minister in the third government led by Narendra Modi.
Originating from Kottayam in Kerala, Kurian is recognized as a straightforward BJP leader, known for his gentle demeanor and as a well-liked BJP representative on television news.
He commenced his political journey as a student activist with the student wing of the Janata Party in 1977 and joined the BJP in 1980, remaining with the party ever since.
In 2017, Kurian was designated as the Vice-Chairman of the National Minorities Commission.
Although based in Kottayam, he has served in Delhi, working as the officer on special duty to the then Minister of State for Railways O. Rajagopal during the Atal Bihari Vajpayee government from 1999 to 2004.
His ministerial position is perceived as an outreach initiative to the Christian community.
For Christians, Jesus is perceived as the Son of God, and his teachings and sacrifices have significantly shaped the spiritual growth of humanity.
Christmas holds profound religious and cultural importance for Christians, celebrating the birth of Jesus Christ, who is believed to have come to earth to redeem humanity.
His teachings emphasize sacrifice, love, and compassion.
Christians believe that the birth of Jesus transformed the world, bringing joy and hope instead of greed and malice.
Christmas is also a moment to remember the sacrifices made by Jesus, particularly his crucifixion and resurrection. Traditions like carol singing, religious services, and prayers commemorate these events.
