Christian Leaders Celebrate PM Modi's Attendance at Christmas Festivities, Calling it a 'Significant Honor'

New Delhi, Dec 24 (NationPress) Prime Minister Narendra Modi engaged in the Christmas festivities hosted by the Catholic Bishops' Conference of India (CBCI) at its headquarters in the national capital, an unprecedented event as it marks the first time a Prime Minister has attended such a celebration at the Catholic Church.
Numerous religious figures from the Christian community expressed their appreciation for Prime Minister Modi's involvement, describing it as a 'significant honor' for them.
Father Nirdosh Ekka, a member of the Society of Jesus, expressed gratitude to the Prime Minister for this notable gesture during an interaction with IANS, stating that they are eager to contribute to the nation's development.
'PM Modi came among us, and we are very thankful for this. He shared in our joy and happiness. He treated us with respect. Every citizen of the country deserves equal treatment and justice. This is also the message of Jesus Christ,' he remarked.
Father Nirdosh, who also serves as the secretary of Tribal affairs at the CBCI, mentioned, 'The Prime Minister is guiding the country towards progress, and we intend to contribute. However, certain individuals sometimes hinder our contributions. Our community excels in education. Though we comprise only two percent of the population, our educational institutions are among the finest. We spread the love of Jesus Christ throughout society. The teachings of Jesus advocate for a life filled with happiness.'
The Catholic Bishops' Conference of India (CBCI), founded in 1944, collaborates closely with all Catholics across India.
Father Sushil Modi remarked that PM Modi's call for 'Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Prayas' conveys a powerful message that resonates universally.
'The message delivered by the Prime Minister is vital for the entire world. He is committed to the progress of every community and strives to foster development across all societal sectors. The insights he shared regarding initiatives in education and health were truly inspiring for all of us,' stated Father Sushil Modi.
'He also reassured us that communities like ours will receive government support and cooperation, enabling us to execute our plans more effectively.'
Additionally, he noted that PM Modi addressed several international matters and elaborated on the government's efforts to repatriate stranded citizens.
Father Joseph Chinnayyan expressed confidence, stating: 'We trust that the Prime Minister will guarantee justice and security for every individual in the country, regardless of religion, caste, or community. He assured us that all people would receive equal protection and love.'
PM Modi also engaged with key figures from the Christian community, including Cardinals, Bishops, and distinguished Church leaders.
Just last week, PM Modi participated in a Christmas celebration at the residence of Union Minister George Kurian in Delhi, where he interacted with members of the minority community.
