In attendance at Kisan Ghat, Delhi, Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar also paid homage to Chaudhary Charan Singh. Union Minister Jayant Chaudhary—the RLD chief and grandson of Chaudhary Charan Singh—was present alongside the Vice President.

After the tributes, the Vice President remarked, "On the occasion of Kisan Diwas, I salute all the farmers of India. In 2001, a pivotal decision was made to commemorate this day in honor of such an extraordinary individual who devoted his life to the nation's growth alongside the farmers and rural development. His insights and philosophy serve as a model for all of us."

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh also took to social media to honor the former Prime Minister. "I pay my tribute to former Prime Minister Chaudhary Charan Singh on his birth anniversary. He dedicated his life to the welfare of the poor and farmers. When democracy faced threats, he valiantly fought to uphold it. Despite his extensive travels across the nation, Chaudhary sahab remained deeply connected to his land. His contributions to India's development will always be remembered."

Born in 1902 in Meerut, Uttar Pradesh, the birth anniversary of Chaudhary Charan Singh is celebrated as Kisan Diwas or National Farmers' Day on December 23. He was a staunch advocate for the farmers and played a crucial role in formulating various farmer-friendly policies.

Chaudhary Charan Singh served as India’s fifth Prime Minister from 1979 to 1980, championing the rights and welfare of the farming community. During his administration, he initiated several welfare programs aimed at supporting farmers.

In recognition of his invaluable contributions, the Government of India designated December 23 as National Farmers' Day in 2001. This day is marked by numerous events such as seminars, workshops, and discussions aimed at elevating awareness regarding the issues faced by farmers and their vital role in society.
