Punjab Administration Focused on Kejriwal While State Faces Explosions Near Pakistan: Akali Dal

Chandigarh, Dec 18 (NationPress) The Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) asserted on Wednesday that Punjab's Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, who is also responsible for the Home portfolio, is preoccupied with catering to his superior Arvind Kejriwal, while the state grapples with a troubling series of explosions in police stations, particularly along the border with Pakistan.

Akali Dal leader Bikram Singh Majithia raised concerns about the AAP government and questioned the level of vigilance demonstrated by the Punjab Police, which has egregiously failed to prevent the recent bomb blasts at police stations situated in the border region.

He highlighted that the police force, once regarded as the top police unit in the nation, is unable to act against anti-national elements due to restrictions placed upon them by the current government.

Majithia further criticized the AAP administration for not only neglecting to tackle anti-national threats but also for its inability to control gangsters involved in extortion, murders, and thefts.

Detailing the incidents involving police stations, the SAD leader noted that on November 24, RDX was discovered at the police station in Ajnala. A grenade explosion occurred on November 27 in Gurbaksh Nagar in Amritsar, followed by another grenade explosion at the police station in Kathgarh in SBS Nagar district on December 2. On December 4, a grenade detonated at the police station in Majitha (Amritsar), and on December 13, a grenade blast rocked the police station in Aliwal in Batala. Most recently, a grenade blast took place at the Islamabad police station in Amritsar on December 17.

He remarked that it is alarming that all these events transpired in the state's border area, posing a significant threat to national security.

Former minister Majithia pointed out that under the AAP's tenure, Punjab has witnessed high-profile killings, including that of renowned singer Sidhu Moosewala and kabaddi player Sandeep Nangal Ambian.

He cited the rocket launcher assault on the Sarhali police station in Tarn Taran and the intelligence office in Mohali as stark evidence of how gangsters and terrorists operate without fear in the state.

Majithia concluded by stating that Chief Minister Mann is entirely accountable for this troubling situation, urging him to either take decisive action to rectify the circumstances or resign for his failure to adequately govern the state.
