This led to the capture of five individuals, including a juvenile, along with the recovery of 12 high-grade .30 bore pistols and 1.5 kg of heroin, as stated by Director General of Police (DGP) Gaurav Yadav on Thursday.
The arrested individuals are Joban Singh (22), Karandeep Singh (19), and Ajaypal Singh (18), all hailing from Mari Megha village in Tarn Taran; Jashanpreet Singh (18) from Rania village in Amritsar, along with a 16-year-old juvenile.
DGP Yadav indicated that initial inquiries showed that Joban Singh and Jashanpreet Singh were directly communicating with smugglers based in Pakistan through social media to facilitate the exchange of arms and narcotics.
