Rahul and Priyanka Gandhi Express Condolences for Fallen Security Forces in Bijapur Maoist Assault

New Delhi, Jan 6 (NationPress) Congress leaders Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra conveyed their sorrow over the tragic loss of security personnel in a brutal Maoist assault in Chhattisgarh on Monday.
In this dreadful incident, eight District Reserve Guard (DRG) jawans along with one driver were killed when their vehicle was detonated by Maoists using an IED in Bijapur.
Rahul Gandhi expressed his deep sadness regarding the cowardly Naxalite attack in Bijapur, Chhattisgarh, which resulted in the martyrdom of several soldiers and a driver. He shared his thoughts on X, stating, “I pay my heartfelt tribute to the martyrs and wish a speedy recovery to the injured soldiers. In this difficult time, my thoughts are with the grieving families. The entire nation stands united against terrorism and violence. The increasing martyrdom of soldiers raises serious questions about the government's ability to maintain national security.”
Priyanka Gandhi also shared her condolences in Hindi on X, saying, “The news of the martyrdom of a large number of soldiers in the Naxalite attack in Bijapur, Chhattisgarh is deeply saddening. The entire nation stands united against terrorism and condemns it in the strongest terms. May God grant peace to the departed souls. My heartfelt condolences to the grieving families. I wish for the speedy recovery of the injured.”
At least nine individuals, including eight jawans from the Dantewada District Reserve Guard (DRG), lost their lives when their vehicle was targeted in an IED blast in Bijapur, Chhattisgarh, on Monday.
This tragic event unfolded just days after five insurgents were neutralized in an encounter between security forces and Maoists in Bastar. Initially, four rebels were confirmed dead on Sunday, with one additional body recovered later.
