Srinagar, April 25 (NationPress) Senior Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, who arrived in Kashmir on Friday, met with those injured in the Pahalgam terror attack that occurred on April 22.

Congress officials stated that Rahul Gandhi made a visit to the Army's Base Hospital located in the Badamibagh Cantonment area of Srinagar, where the victims of the terror attack are currently receiving treatment.

A total of 26 civilians lost their lives, and around two dozen individuals sustained injuries in this despicable attack that took place in the Baisaran meadow of Pahalgam.

“Rahulji is also scheduled to engage with various delegations, encompassing those from the party as well as the trade and tourism sectors,” remarked the Congress officials.

He is anticipated to have private discussions with Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha and Chief Minister Omar Abdullah.

“Rahul Gandhi has arrived with a message aimed at ‘healing the wounds’ of the nation’s populace, including the people of Kashmir, following the attack and its repercussions,” shared Congress sources.

Upon his arrival, he was welcomed by J&K Congress president Tariq Hameed Karra and senior leader G.A. Mir at the airport.

Gandhi participated in an all-party meeting on Thursday convened by the Centre to inform parties about the tragic terror attack, and he expressed his unwavering support for the government’s actions.

He shortened his visit to the US to be present for the vital meeting of the Congress Working Committee slated for Thursday.

It is noteworthy that during the All Party meeting held in New Delhi yesterday, the Congress party pledged full support to the government in seeking justice for the innocent civilians who were killed in Pahalgam.

In his initial response to the Pahalgam terror attack, Prime Minister Narendra Modi stated in Bihar on Thursday that the terrorists accountable for the Pahalgam attack, including their handlers and supporters, would face consequences beyond their imagination.

“The time has arrived to eradicate the diminishing space of these terrorists and their backers. We will pursue them to the ends of the earth,” declared the PM.
