New Delhi, April 25 (NationPress) The Leader of the Opposition (LoP) in the Lok Sabha and Congress MP Rahul Gandhi is set to arrive in Srinagar, Jammu and Kashmir, on Friday, in response to the recent terrorist attack in Pahalgam.

This visit follows the Congress MP's decision to truncate his official trip to the United States and return to New Delhi early Thursday morning.

Earlier that day, the Central government organized an all-party meeting to discuss the ongoing security climate and craft a unified response to the incident.

In the aftermath of the attack, India has initiated robust counteractions against Pakistan for its alleged endorsement of cross-border terrorism.

During a meeting of the Cabinet Committee on Security led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, along with Union Home Minister Amit Shah, the government resolved to suspend the Indus Waters Treaty of 1960 until Pakistan unequivocally renounces its support for cross-border terrorism and has shut down the integrated Attari Check Post.

Moreover, India has deemed the officials of the Pakistani High Commission persona non grata, mandating their departure from India within a week.
