Is Rahul Gandhi a National Problem? Insights from Acharya Pramod Krishnam
Synopsis
Key Takeaways
Sambhal, Feb 19 (NationPress) Acharya Pramod Krishnam, the leader of Kalki Dham, characterized Congress figure Rahul Gandhi as a “national dilemma”, asserting that he was once a significant threat to the Congress party but has now evolved into a broader issue for the nation.
In an interview with IANS, the head of Kalki Dham commented that Gandhi's actions are reminiscent of separatists and anarchists.
“Rahul Gandhi’s behavior mirrors that of separatist factions. Just like separatist groups in Kashmir and anarchists who incite chaos, his conduct seems aligned with such elements. The pressing question is, why does he behave this way? It’s a profound concern,” he expressed.
He went on to claim that Gandhi has continually undermined his own party.
“I believe that Rahul Gandhi poses a severe risk to Congress. Until now, he was the primary issue for the party, but at this point, he has become a national concern,” Acharya Pramod Krishnam stated to IANS.
These comments arose during a heated political debate regarding Gandhi’s behavior and the recent disruptions observed in Parliament.
Union Minister Kiren Rijiju previously accused the Lok Sabha Leader of Opposition of having ties to “anti-India forces” and alleged encounters with Maoists and extremist groups. Rijiju claimed that Gandhi has turned into “the most hazardous individual for India’s security” and suggested that the country has never encountered such a Leader of Opposition before.
On the topic of ongoing disruptions in Parliament, Rijiju, who oversees Parliamentary Affairs, remarked that noise and disorder are intrinsic to parliamentary democracy. However, he pointed out that the nature of these disruptions is also significant.
“Parliamentary democracy will always involve some noise and disorder. Each party has its agenda and will try to advocate for it in the House. This alone does not represent a failure. Yet, alongside the chaos, we must assess the actions being undertaken. When we were in opposition, we did not throw papers at the Speaker or brandish banners towards the ruling side, and that’s why I’m frustrated,” Rijiju noted.
The minister further criticized Gandhi’s actions as “childish and irresponsible for someone in his position.”
“A Leader of the Opposition speaks for the entire opposition. Going outside the House to label people as traitors, staging theatrical protests, and insisting on reading from an unpublished book — all of this is child-like conduct,” he added.
Rijiju referred to Gandhi’s recent confrontation with his former colleague and current Union Minister Ravneet Singh Bittu in Parliament.
