Railway Minister Promises RPF Training Centre in Mysuru, Karnataka to H.D. Kumaraswamy

New Delhi, Jan 7 (NationPress) Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw on Tuesday confirmed to Union Minister of Heavy Industries and Steel, H.D. Kumaraswamy, the plan to set up a Railway Protection Force (RPF) training centre in K.R. Nagar, located in Mysuru district of Karnataka.
In a meeting held in New Delhi, Kumaraswamy presented his proposal, which was met with an enthusiastic response from the Railway Minister. Describing it as a significant step forward, Vaishnaw pledged to closely monitor the project, according to an official statement from Union Minister Kumaraswamy.
Kumaraswamy formally requested the establishment of the RPF training school in K.R. Nagar, highlighting the importance of prioritizing railway safety in the Mysuru area. Given the rise in passenger traffic, he emphasized that railway security is of utmost importance. The Railway Minister committed to prompt actions on this matter.
Additionally, Kumaraswamy informed Vaishnaw that the previous railway station in K.R. Nagar had been moved during H.D. Deve Gowda’s prime ministership. The former station site is unoccupied, free from land acquisition complications, making it suitable for the training centre.
He also noted that the creation of the RPF training school would lead to substantial employment opportunities, benefiting local youth and fostering development in the Mysuru region.
Kumaraswamy further discussed accelerating various pending railway initiatives in the state with the Railway Minister.
The Minister endorsed Kumaraswamy’s request for the construction of a railway flyover at a level crossing between Ramanagara and Channapatna, assuring immediate action on this request as well.
Regarding a plea to enhance Sakleshpur railway station on the Bengaluru-Mangaluru route, Vaishnaw confirmed that the work is already in progress and promised the swift completion of the project along with the creation of a modern railway station.
Kumaraswamy also sought approval for a new train service on the Mumbai-Bengaluru-Mangaluru route via Hassan, as well as for new broad-gauge railway lines in the Koppal district and immediate sanctioning of the Hejjala-Kanakapura-Malavalli-Kollegal-Yelandur-Chamarajanagar railway line.
Kumaraswamy asserted that the government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi is dedicated to Karnataka's progress, ensuring the rapid completion of railway projects and thorough consideration of new proposals. The Railway Minister responded positively to all these requests, he noted.
The Railway Minister also promised comprehensive support for the transportation of steel and scrap materials nationwide.
