Mumbai, May 7 (NationPress) The chief of the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS), Raj Thackeray, commented on Operation Sindoor, the Indian Armed Forces' air strikes aimed at terrorist camps in Pakistan, asserting that war is not a solution to terrorist acts.
He stressed the need to track down and eliminate those behind the Pahalgam attack, which resulted in the loss of 26 lives.
“In my initial tweet after the Pahalgam attack, I stated that the terrorists responsible must face consequences that future generations will remember. However, war is not an effective response to terrorism. After the 9/11 attacks, the United States did not engage in war; they focused on hunting down the terrorists,” Thackeray remarked.
He also raised valid concerns regarding security failures that allowed the attack to happen. “It's crucial to question why this incident occurred. Pakistan is already in ruins; there’s little left to destroy there. The real issues are why the attackers were not identified sooner and the absence of security at the tourist location?”
Meanwhile, political figures from various parties praised Operation Sindoor.
Maharashtra's Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis commended the Indian Army, stating, “The Indian Army has once again demonstrated that India will not tolerate terrorism. Congratulations to our armed forces and Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the precise strikes that dismantled terrorist camps in Pakistan. The name ‘Operation Sindoor’ is both symbolic and powerful.”
Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde echoed this sentiment, describing the strikes as “an appropriate response” to the Pahalgam murders.
“The air strikes on nine terrorist camps in Pakistan are a source of pride for every Indian. Prime Minister Modi's strong determination has clearly communicated to the world that while India seeks peace, it will not hesitate to retaliate when provoked. Operation Sindoor has significantly impacted terrorism.”
Aaditya Thackeray, leader of Shiv Sena (UBT), stated, “Terrorism in all its forms must be eradicated. The precision strikes in PoK were both targeted and effective. Kudos to our defense forces. We must decisively crush terrorism. Jai Hind!”
Union Minister Ramdas Athawale regarded the strikes as a fitting tribute to the victims of the Pahalgam attack, emphasizing the need for such operations to continue in the future to reclaim Pakistan-occupied Kashmir.
