Jaipur, Jan 31 (NationPress) The third session of the 16th Rajasthan Legislative Assembly is set to begin on Friday with an address from Governor Haribhau Bagde.

Upon entering the Assembly, Governor Bagde will be greeted with a bouquet by Speaker Vasudev Devnani, Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma, and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Jogaram Patel. He will also receive a guard of honour before moving to the House in a formal procession to deliver his address.

Officials have stated that the state's Budget Session is anticipated to last around 40 days, with the budget expected to be presented in the second week of February.

Prior to the session, both Congress and BJP legislative parties convened meetings on Thursday. Yet, the absence of key leaders drew attention. Former Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje and Minister Kirodi Lal Meena were notably missing from the BJP meeting.

Likewise, former Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot and Congress National General Secretary Sachin Pilot did not attend the Congress meeting.

Raje is currently participating in the Maha Kumbh, where she performed a puja and took a dip at the Triveni Sangam Ghat. Pilot is engaged in the Delhi election campaign, while Gehlot is on a tour of Mumbai.

Meanwhile, sources indicate that the suspension of Congress MLA Mukesh Bhakar could be lifted on the first day of the new session.

Chief Minister Sharma led a legislative party meeting at his residence, urging MLAs to adopt a constructive stance in the Assembly.

"If the opposition creates obstacles, we must respond appropriately," the CM stated.

He also challenged the Congress to compare its last three years in power with the BJP’s initial year, claiming that his government excels in employment and development.

In advising legislators, CM Sharma highlighted the significance of respecting party workers. "They are your representatives, your advocates," he remarked.

Responding to the opposition’s criticism regarding the renaming of the Eastern Rajasthan Canal Project (ERCP) to Ram Jal Setu, the CM commented, "We didn’t name it—God did. The name originates from ‘Ra’ in Rajasthan and ‘Ma’ in Madhya Pradesh."
