Key Takeaways
Jaipur, March 19 (NationPress) In celebration of Rajasthan Day, Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma inaugurated 207 new buses belonging to the Rajasthan State Road Transport Corporation (RSRTC) at the Ajmer Road bus terminal on Thursday.
The addition of these buses is anticipated to enhance the state's public transportation network, ensuring better and more accessible travel options for citizens.
Offering his best wishes to the residents of the state for Rajasthan Day and the Hindu New Year, the Chief Minister remarked that Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, known as the 'Iron Man of India,' laid the foundation for Greater Rajasthan (Brihad Rajasthan) on March 30, 1949, during Chaitra Shukla Pratipada under the auspicious Revati Nakshatra and Indra Yoga.
This historical significance is why the state government chose to mark Rajasthan Day on this date. This year, the festivities took place on March 19, embodying the spirit of celebration with various state-level events held in the days leading up to it.
CM Sharma highlighted that Rajasthan is swiftly moving towards fulfilling the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi for a “Developed India, Developed Rajasthan.”
He emphasized that significant developmental milestones have been achieved across various sectors in the state over the past two and a quarter years.
During the event, he also prayed for the joy, prosperity, and welfare of the people, stating that relief measures have been extended to all segments of society in this period.
As part of the ceremony, the Chief Minister performed traditional rituals (puja) to bless the new buses. The fleet includes 100 Blue Line Express buses, 79 Star Line buses, and 28 air-conditioned buses, increasing the total number of buses in the Rajasthan Roadways fleet by 207. Each vehicle is outfitted with modern safety features to ensure secure, orderly, and comfortable travel for passengers.
In a notable gesture, the Chief Minister distributed helmets to 700 women, honoring them as “Road Safety Pioneers” and urging them to adhere to traffic regulations. The event was met with enthusiastic participation from the community, who warmly welcomed and honored the Chief Minister. The ceremony was also attended by Deputy Chief Minister Dr. Premchand Bairwa, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Jogaram Patel, and MP Manju Sharma, along with other public officials and citizens.
