Rajasthan Governor Calls on Youth to Help Achieve the Vision of a 'Developed India'

Jaipur, Jan 2 (NationPress) Rajasthan Governor Haribhau Bagde on Thursday called upon the youth to fully engage in bringing the vision of a Developed India to fruition by embracing self-reliance and self-employment, as stated in the National Education Policy (NEP).

During the opening of the 59th Devgiri State Conference of the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) in Latur, Maharashtra, Bagde pointed out that the youth make up around 34 percent of the nation’s GDP.

He urged the ABVP to lead initiatives that involve young individuals from diverse backgrounds in the mission of nation-building, nurturing the ethos of 'Nation First'.

The Governor underscored the necessity of steadfast commitment to closing the divide between rural and urban landscapes, ensuring all-around growth throughout the nation.

He reiterated the importance of unified efforts under the guiding principle of 'Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas, and Sabka Prayas' to revive India's standing as a global powerhouse.

Bagde expressed optimism that when the youth direct their vigor and innovation towards the nation's advancement, transformative results will ensue.

Reflecting on India's educational framework, the Governor remarked that reforms from the British era, initiated by Macaulay, were designed to undermine the country's cultural integrity.

While political independence was attained in 1947, he regretted that educational reforms lagged behind.

The launch of the NEP in 2020, over thirty years post the 1986 policy, represents a significant milestone, according to Bagde.

He accentuated the policy's emphasis on cultivating Indianness, advocating for self-employment, and ensuring the total development of students.

Bagde commended the combination of modern technologies with Indian knowledge traditions in shaping the NEP, urging the youth to commit themselves to the cause of nation-building.

In his remarks about the ABVP's history, he praised its founder Balraj Madhok for establishing it as a vehicle for national advancement and acknowledged the importance of the Devgiri State Conference.
