Jaipur, April 12 (NationPress) The Leader of Opposition in the Rajasthan Assembly, Tika Ram Jully, received a warm reception from individuals of various communities at his office in Moti Dungri, Alwar, during his visit in light of the recent 'Ganga Jal' sprinkling incident.
During his address, Jully reiterated his dedication to the principles of religious harmony and unity, drawing inspiration from Mahatma Gandhi.
He emphasized that tolerance is a fundamental aspect of India's cultural and spiritual legacy, while cautioning that certain factions are trying to disturb this balance by stirring up religious sentiments and promoting political division.
With chants of Jai Siyaram and Jai Bajrangbali, Jully highlighted the necessity of maintaining a fair and respectful approach towards all faiths. He asserted that love and respect for every religion is not just an aspiration but the very core of Indian civilization, as all religions ultimately advocate for peace, unity, and brotherhood.
Moreover, Jully pointed out that the primary goal of all religions is to support humanity and cultivate compassion among individuals.
In a display of communal harmony, representatives from diverse backgrounds united to present him with an image featuring the message Hindu, Muslim, Sikh, Christian – Hum Sab Hain Bhai Bhai (We are all brothers).
The controversy arose on Monday when BJP leader and former MLA Gyandev Ahuja sprinkled Gangajal in a temple to "purify" it after the visit of Rajasthan’s Leader of Opposition, Tikaram Jully, a Dalit leader.
On the occasion of Ram Navami on Sunday, Jully attended the consecration ceremony of a Ram temple in Alwar’s Apna Ghar Shalimar. Ahuja voiced his strong disapproval of Jully’s presence, labeling him as “anti-Hindutva” and “anti-Sanatan”.
Ahuja, who previously served as the MLA from Alwar’s Ramgarh, visited the temple on Monday and sprinkled Gangajal.
However, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has since suspended him from the party and issued a show cause notice. Ahuja has responded to the party leaders.
