Jaipur, Jan 16 (NationPress) Rajasthan Mandapam is set to boast world-class facilities and will host significant events, while Unity Mall is designed to uplift local products, stated Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma on Thursday.
During a high-level meeting at the Chief Minister’s Office, Sharma expressed that Rajasthan Mandapam will emerge as a key venue for cultural and business events, showcasing the state's rich art, culture, and tourism.
He further instructed officials to research leading convention centers across India and internationally to incorporate premium features, including a convention center, exhibition halls, meeting spaces, and sufficient visitor parking.
Sharma revealed that Rajasthan Mandapam will be equipped with top-tier facilities, setting a benchmark for other states. He stressed the necessity of a robust action plan to ensure all arrangements and infrastructure for major events are in place.
The Chief Minister also emphasized the planned establishment of Unity Mall in Jaipur to highlight indigenous products through initiatives like ‘Make in India’ and ‘One District-One Product.’ This mall will function as a comprehensive marketplace for GI-tagged products, handicrafts, and other local offerings.
Tailored to meet shopkeepers’ needs, the mall will feature amenities such as a common training center, open theater, business meeting halls, and seminar rooms.
During this meeting, officials presented the proposed action plan for both Rajasthan Mandapam and Unity Mall. Industry and Commerce Minister Colonel Rajyavardhan Rathore, Additional Chief Secretary Shikhar Aggarwal, Principal Secretary Alok Gupta, senior RIICO officials, and other significant stakeholders were present.
The Chief Minister reaffirmed the government’s dedication to improving infrastructure that bolsters cultural heritage, stimulates economic growth, and supports local artisans, ensuring Rajasthan remains at the forefront of cultural and business innovation.
