Rajasthan Police Captures Fugitive Linked to Bluetooth Cheating Scheme

Jaipur, April 4 (NationPress) In a significant development, authorities have successfully detained Rakesh Kumar Rewad, who had been evading capture for more than a year in relation to a Bluetooth cheating scandal linked to the Junior Clerk Grade-II recruitment examination.
Rewad was taken into custody on Friday by Investigation Officer Pradeep Kumar Sharma, alongside Additional Police Commissioner of Shastri Nagar.
Vishal Baly, Additional Director General of Police (Licensing & Welfare), disclosed that this case involves the re-examinations ordered by the Rajasthan High Court for Clerk Grade-II positions. These re-exams were conducted under the Combined Competitive Examination-2022 on March 12 and 19, 2023.
A resident of Churu District, Rewad participated in the March 19 examination at Sanganer Tehsil S.S. School in Jaipur.
During the exam, he was caught utilizing Bluetooth-enabled micro-devices to obtain answers from outside sources. Investigations uncovered that the principal operator, Ishwar Kailash, had been supplying candidates with Bluetooth-connected devices in exchange for substantial payments.
Rewad received answers through this illicit method during the test.
A separate investigation (FIR No. 66/2024 at Police Station Shastri Nagar) is ongoing under various sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), including Sections 420, 467, 468, 471, 120B, as well as Sections 3, 4, 6, and 10 of the Rajasthan Public Examination (Prevention of Unfair Means) Act, 2022.
Furthermore, Rewad was implicated in Bluetooth cheating during the Patwari recruitment examination held on May 14, 2023.
Due to confirmed misconduct, the State Government has annulled the affected examinations.
The investigation also revealed that agents Ishwar Kailash and his accomplice Ramlal Kailash amassed large sums from various candidates, providing them with devices to relay answers during exams.
Previously, on October 19, 2024, Rewad's spouse, Chandrakala Rewad, was apprehended for her involvement in similar Bluetooth cheating during the VDO/RO recruitment examination.
Having avoided arrest for over a year, the Additional Director General announced a reward of Rs 25,000 for information leading to his apprehension.
Authorities have indicated that further investigations are in progress to identify and detain additional individuals involved in this cheating network.
