Jaipur, June 9 (NationPress) The president of the Rajasthan BJP, Madan Rathore, has fiercely criticized the Congress party, claiming that the recent Gurjar protests in Pilupura, Bharatpur, represent a “sponsored conspiracy” instigated by prominent leaders of the Congress party.
During a press conference at the BJP headquarters, Rathore accused former Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot and senior party figure Sachin Pilot of inciting the unrest that escalated after Sunday’s Mahapanchayat.
Following the Gurjar Mahapanchayat held near the Shaheed Memorial in Karwari village, a group of protestors, in a state of agitation, blocked railway tracks and vandalized public property.
This resulted in halted train services and posed significant challenges to law enforcement.
Rathore remarked, “Three days ago, Ashok Gehlot and Sachin Pilot had met. If this agitation is the outcome of that meeting, then it is exceedingly unfortunate and raises suspicions.”
He emphasized that such disturbances were unprecedented during the Congress's rule, implying political motivations behind the sudden unrest.
While acknowledging the legitimacy of protests, Rathore condemned the approach taken by the protestors, stating that disrupting public life and damaging infrastructure is intolerable. He expressed support for the demands of Gurjar leader Vijay Bainsla but criticized the protest's methods and venue.
“This type of violence only occurs during BJP administrations, never under Congress. If this isn’t orchestrated, then what is it?” Rathore questioned.
In an attack on state Congress chief Govind Singh Dotasra, Rathore commented, “He couldn’t even ensure victory for his own party’s candidates in his constituency.”
He called on the Congress to “organize its own affairs” before criticizing others. Rathore also pointed to the BJP’s recent successes in the Panchayati Raj and Municipal Corporation by-elections, where the party won 28 seats across various districts, indicating public support for the Bhajan Lal government's development initiatives.
In his remarks, Rathore commended the accomplishments of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s administration, asserting that “India raised the Tricolor on the moon within 11 years of his leadership and has been honored by over 40 nations.”
He further noted that “Pakistan was compelled to kneel in just three days” under PM Modi’s direction.
Rathore also addressed the concerns of RAS aspirants, affirming the BJP government’s commitment to addressing their demands with the relevant authorities.
Nonetheless, he cautioned against actions that disrupt public order. He reiterated the Bhajan Lal government’s dedication to making Rajasthan energy independent and its efforts to combat the paper leak mafia.
The Gurjar Mahapanchayat, led by Vijay Bainsla of the Gurjar Aarakshan Sangharsh Samiti, outlined several critical demands, including community reservations. However, the absence of any mention of REET recruitment in the government’s proposal incited outrage among some youth. Around 4:30 p.m. on Sunday, after the Mahapanchayat concluded, protestors obstructed the railway tracks, chanted slogans, and vandalized railway properties.
Railway officials, along with the RPF, have initiated the process of identifying those responsible.
Meanwhile, an FIR has been lodged against unidentified individuals at the Bayana Police Station.
