Jaipur, Feb 9 (NationPress) - On Monday, the School Education Department of Rajasthan unveiled the District Academic Ranking for January 2026, providing an in-depth evaluation of district performance based on academic outcomes, school operations, and governance metrics.

The latest rankings reveal that Jhunjhunu and Hanumangarh have claimed the top spots, while Churu has made significant strides to secure third place.

This ranking system assesses districts on crucial factors including student attendance, the quality of teaching in classrooms, field visit monitoring, and academic assessment results.

With a renewed focus on learning outcomes and frequent high-level performance evaluations, the district ranking methodology is becoming a vital mechanism to bolster accountability, targeted assistance, and ongoing enhancements in the educational framework.

For the first time, formal integration of academic learning outcomes into the district ranking process has occurred. Assessments like Competency-Based Assessments (CBA), Oral Reading Fluency (ORF)

This approach guarantees that district performance not only mirrors administrative effectiveness but also has a direct academic influence on students. The ranking system facilitates regular, data-oriented performance reviews, enhancing accountability at all levels.

District rankings and scores by parameters are scrutinized monthly in meetings led by the Principal Secretary of the School Education Department, identifying gaps and establishing clear, timely action plans.

Sikar, Bharatpur, and Khairthal-Tijara took fourth, fifth, and sixth positions, respectively, while Banswara and Jaisalmer found themselves at the bottom of the rankings.

“The district ranking system has fostered transparency and accountability within school education. Associating learning outcomes with rankings ensures that decisions made at every level are driven by actual student progress. Our goal is to provide every district with equal opportunities, timely support, and essential resources so that no child lacks access to quality education,” stated Madan Dilawar, Minister of Education, Government of Rajasthan.

Moving forward, we are committed to ensuring quality education for all students through technology, teacher training, and innovative practices,” added Krishna Kunal, Principal Secretary, School Education Department.
