Jaipur, April 3 (NationPress) In accordance with the vision of Rajasthan's Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma, the Rajasthan University of Health Sciences (RUHS) Hospital is undergoing development into the Rajasthan Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS), designed similarly to AIIMS.

On Friday, Chief Secretary V. Srinivas conducted a visit to RUHS, engaging in extensive discussions with leading medical professionals from esteemed national institutions and high-ranking officials from the Department of Medical Education about the institution's evolution.

Following the budget announcement, Chief Secretary Srinivas instructed officials to hasten the work's progress and ensure the timely completion of RIMS.

He stated that the upgraded facility would significantly improve the state’s healthcare framework and pave the way for advancements in medical research, innovation, and top-tier patient care.

Highlighting the substantial patient influx at Sawai Man Singh Hospital, he recognized the upgrade of RUHS into a cutting-edge medical institution as a crucial move to bolster Rajasthan's healthcare infrastructure.

He urged the removal of any hurdles obstructing the project's progress and emphasized the need to fast-track necessary approvals.

Additionally, he directed that the establishment of infrastructure, procurement of medical apparatus, and the expansion of specialized services be approached in a phased, mission-driven manner.

Furthermore, he urged officials to expedite the formulation of the rules and regulations necessary for RIMS' establishment.

The Chief Secretary stressed the importance of setting weekly and monthly targets to maintain a steady momentum in RIMS's development.

He called for the prompt preparation of a comprehensive action plan and highlighted that RIMS should evolve into a fully digitalized healthcare system, ensuring smooth and patient-friendly access to services.

During the review meeting, medical experts including Ramesh Agarwal, Sanjeev Lalwani, Ashok Jaryal, and Rajesh Khadgawat from AIIMS, alongside M.K. Aseri, Vice-Chancellor of Marwar Medical University, shared their insights on the development of RIMS and provided recommendations on critical technical aspects of RUHS's upgrade.

Previously, the Chief Secretary toured various facilities at RUHS, such as the Outpatient Department (OPD), In-patient Department (IPD), and Intensive Care Unit, interacting with patients and their families to collect direct feedback on the healthcare services rendered.

Hospital officials reported that, following recent expansions and upgrades, there has been a notable increase in patient visits to both OPD and IPD.

A diverse array of specialized medical services is currently being offered at the hospital.

Attendees at the meeting included Commissioner of Medical Education Babulal Goyal, Commissioner of Agriculture Naresh Goyal, Officer on Special Duty Garima Narula, RUHS Vice-Chancellor Pramod Yeole, Sawai Man Singh Medical College Principal Deepak Maheshwari, RUHS Principal Vinod Joshi, RUHS Superintendent Anil Gupta, and State Cancer Institute Superintendent Sandeep Jasuja, among other senior officials.
