Key Takeaways
Coimbatore, Feb 12 (NationPress) Defence Minister Rajnath Singh is set to grace Sadhguru's 33rd Isha Mahashivratri festivities on February 15. The event will also feature Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting and Parliamentary Affairs L. Murugan, as per a statement released on Thursday.
This night-long celebration promises a blend of devotion, music, and meditation, and is anticipated to reach over 140 million viewers worldwide through live broadcasts across more than 100 TV channels and digital streams in 23 languages, both Indian and foreign.
Revered as the “Great Night of Shiva”, Mahashivratri marks a remarkable planetary event where the natural energy surge within humans is particularly favorable for spiritual advancement, the statement elaborated.
Sadhguru remarked, “We have the advantage of being at the foothills of Velliangiri Mountains, known as the Kailash of the South, where it is said that Shiva himself dwelled for over three-and-a-half months. Being situated at eleven degrees latitude is crucial due to the planet's tilt and rotation, resulting in a significant natural energy surge.”
He emphasized that Mahashivaratri is the pinnacle of this energy upsurge, making it an ideal location to celebrate that night.
The vibrant festival at Isha will showcase performances from Purbayan Chatterjee on Hindustani Sitar, Carnatic Vocalist Bharat Sundar, and Bharatnatyam artist Vaibhav Aarekar, leading up to Mahashivratri.
“Seekers worldwide are invited to remain awake and aware throughout the night, whether by attending at the Isha Yoga Centre or participating through online livestreams, with the event also airing on major television channels,” Sadhguru stated.
“For the first time this Mahashivratri, Sadhguru will personally conduct the Yogeshwara Linga Maha, a complimentary sacred ritual allowing global devotees a chance to connect with this consecrated energy form,” the statement remarked.
A significant highlight of the night will be the Adiyogi Divya Darshanam, a dynamic light and sound exhibition that animates the 112-foot Adiyogi statue, unveiled by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in 2017.
“With Sadhguru narrating the origins of yoga, it creates an atmosphere of awe and reverence among the thousands gathered at the venue and the millions tuning in online,” it concluded.
