Organized by the Department of Ex-Servicemen Welfare (DESW) under the Ministry of Defence, this two-day event carries the theme 'Viksit Bharat and Ex-Servicemen Welfare'.
Taking place from September 29-30, the conclave will serve as a pivotal platform for exchanging significant ideas, attended by Secretary (DESW) Niten Chandra, as noted in the official announcement.
Participants, including representatives from Rajya Sainik Boards (RSBs) and Zila Sainik Boards (ZSBs) nationwide, will partake in grassroots discussions.
These discussions aim to share best practices, bolster support systems, and ensure that welfare initiatives effectively reach every veteran, enhancing their impact, as the statement elaborated.
Besides policy dialogues, the conclave will also host a recognition ceremony where the Defence Minister will honor exceptional individuals and high-performing RSBs and ZSBs for their remarkable contributions to veteran welfare.
This recognition aims not only to commend their commitment but also to motivate others to intensify their efforts in empowering India’s veterans as essential contributors to the vision of Viksit Bharat, the statement added.
On September 23, the Directorate General Resettlement (DGR) under the Ministry of Defence’s DESW organized an employment fair in Delhi, attracting 26 companies that offered over 100 job vacancies.
The fair saw participation from more than 300 retired and retiring Armed Forces officers in search of employment opportunities, as reported by the Defence Ministry.
Held at the United Services Institution of India, the event provided a platform for officers to demonstrate their technical and administrative skills developed during their service years, according to the official statement.
The selected officers will undergo interviews and screenings for various roles, including Supervisory, Technical, Management, Administration, and Strategic Advisory positions, the statement indicated.
