New Delhi, May 9 (NationPress) Defence Minister Rajnath Singh is currently conducting a high-level meeting with the leaders of the Army, Navy, and Air Force at South Block this Friday morning due to the ongoing tensions with Pakistan.

The meeting is in progress, where the Chiefs of the Indian Armed Forces are anticipated to update Rajnath Singh on the latest developments and strategic responses.

On Thursday, the Defence Minister participated in an all-party meeting organized by the Central government to inform Opposition leaders about the military operations executed under 'Operation Sindoor', which he characterized as one of the most extensive counter-terrorism initiatives in recent memory.

Rajnath Singh reported that more than 100 terrorists have been neutralized through precise strikes targeting terror camps and infrastructure across the border.

He pointed out that 'Operation Sindoor' is still active, with the Indian military maintaining a high state of readiness to counter any further provocation or escalation from Pakistan.

“We do not seek to escalate, but if enemy forces engage again, we will respond decisively,” Union Minister Singh stated during the briefing.

His comments came in light of unverified reports that suggest Pakistan may be contemplating its own military response.

Prominent Congress figures such as Rahul Gandhi and Mallikarjun Kharge, along with AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi, were present at the all-party meeting.

Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju informed reporters that the meeting highlighted a “rare moment” of unity in Indian politics, with leaders from various parties expressing strong support for the armed forces and the government's actions.

“All parties demonstrated solidarity with the government. There was consensus that national security should transcend political differences. They praised the Armed Forces and reiterated complete support for the government’s mission to eradicate terrorism from foreign territories,” Rijiju remarked.
