New Delhi, May 13 (NationPress) Following Prime Minister Narendra Modi's recent declaration of a new paradigm in India's stringent anti-terror policy, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh convened a meeting on Tuesday to assess the security landscape with senior officials and military chiefs.
The focus of these discussions was on sustaining heightened vigilance, even amidst the ceasefire agreement reached during 'Operation Sindoor', according to an official source.
During the meeting held at South Block, Defence Minister Singh evaluated the security conditions along the western border.
In attendance were key figures including Chief of Defence Staff General Anil Chauhan, Chief of Naval Staff Admiral Dinesh K Tripathi, Chief of Army Staff General Upendra Dwivedi, Defence Secretary Rajesh Kumar Singh, and Vice Chief of Air Staff Air Marshal Narmdeshwar Tiwari.
Singh congratulated the armed forces for a successful operation that targeted terrorist strongholds, resulting in the elimination of 100 terrorists in Pakistan and the destruction of its defence infrastructure when it “attacked India instead of joining our fight against terror.”
On Monday evening, Rajnath Singh praised PM Modi’s address to the country and the international community, which delivered a resolute stance against terrorism.
In a post on the social media platform X, the Defence Minister remarked, “In his address to the nation today, Prime Minister Shri @narendramodi has clearly presented India's policy on terrorism to the world. His message conveys not only India's sentiment but also showcases our military, diplomatic, and moral fortitude.”
He further noted, “The Prime Minister has clarified that any future dialogues with Pakistan will solely revolve around terrorism and POK. He has also openly commended the bravery and valor of the Indian forces during #OperationSindoor. The entire nation takes pride in our armed forces. I extend my gratitude to the Prime Minister for his robust leadership.”
Earlier on Sunday, Rajnath Singh lauded the armed forces for the operation's success, stating, “Operation Sindoor was not merely a military endeavor but a testament to India's political, social, and strategic resolve.”
He made these remarks during a virtual address at the inauguration of the #BrahMos Integration and Testing Facility Centre in Lucknow.
