New Delhi, March 15 (NationPress) As the Rajya Sabha elections approach, political leaders from various parties are intensifying their efforts to secure victory.

Deputy Speaker of the Bihar Assembly and Janata Dal (United) leader Narendra Narayan Yadav expressed optimism regarding the NDA's chances, stating, "I firmly believe that the NDA will triumph in all five seats; this confidence is essential."

On the other hand, Congress spokesperson Surendra Rajput asserted that the INDIA bloc possesses the full potential to succeed in the Rajya Sabha elections.

He remarked, "The INDIA bloc and our Mahagathbandhan are fully capable of strategizing for victory. The decisions made by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) or JD(U) regarding mergers or alliances are theirs to navigate. Under the guidance of the Leader of Opposition in the Bihar Assembly and Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader Tejashwi Yadav, we will ensure the success of our candidate," he noted during an interview with IANS.

Bihar Minister and BJP member Ram Kripal Yadav conveyed that the RJD will likely face defeat in the elections.

"Tejashwi (Yadav) is not going to hold up; he is destined to finish at the bottom. His votes will flow to us. Who would choose a bleak future by remaining with the Rashtriya Janata Dal? Anyone aiming to secure their future in politics is aligning with us," he remarked.

Addressing the competition for the fourth Rajya Sabha seat in Bihar, RJD MLA Bhai Virendra told IANS, "We acknowledge that four seats will likely go to the NDA, but we are certain that the fifth seat belongs to the Mahagathbandhan, the INDIA bloc, without a doubt."

It is worth noting that parties have been conducting meetings with their MLAs in preparation for the Rajya Sabha elections.

In this context, JD(U) spokesperson Neeraj Kumar stated, "As it is the biennial election for the Rajya Sabha, our various constituent parties are naturally convening collective meetings, and responsibilities are being assigned. MLAs play a vital role in this process, rather than the legislative council."

"We have gathered for this meeting to demonstrate our support," he added.

Voting for the biennial elections to fill 37 Rajya Sabha positions across 10 states is set for Monday. The states include Maharashtra (7), Tamil Nadu (6), Bihar (5), West Bengal (5), Odisha (4), Assam (3), Telangana (2), Chhattisgarh (2), Haryana (2), and Himachal Pradesh (1).
