Amaravati, April 7 (NationPress) Former Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, Y. S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, accused current Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu and his supportive media on Tuesday of engaging in propaganda and verbal abuse due to their inability to effectively challenge his proposed "MAVIGUN" initiative.

The head of the YSR Congress Party took to social media to deliver a sharp critique aimed at the managing director of a Telugu media outlet for his use of offensive language on the ABN channel.

Jagan highlighted the derogatory remarks reportedly made by Vemuri Radha Krishna during the broadcast.

"Utilizing such offensive terminology and incorporating women into political debates is not a form of criticism; it represents a shameful and degrading assault on women, raising significant concerns about the nature of the biased journalism being exercised," the former Chief Minister declared.

"We categorically denounce these comments and assert that such declarations are a calculated effort to demean women and skew public conversations. The primary issue is that, unable to politically counter the "MAVIGUN" proposal, Chandrababu Naidu and his affiliated media have resorted to distraction, misinformation, propaganda, and insults," he stated.

Recently, Jagan proposed the MAVIGUN (Machilipatnam, Vijayawada, and Guntur) corridor as a potential alternative to Amaravati as the state capital.

The offensive comments aired on the news channel were linked to this proposal.

On Tuesday, YSRCP leaders organized a protest at the ABN Andhra Jyothi office in Hyderabad, demanding accountability for Radha Krishna.

"We conducted peaceful demonstrations demanding strict repercussions for Radha Krishna and his public apology. Despite the offensive language, our supporters exhibited restraint and refrained from violence, showcasing our dedication to democratic principles," Jagan Mohan Reddy noted.

The former Chief Minister accused Naidu, Nara Lokesh, and Pawan Kalyan of not only failing to condemn this abhorrent narrative but also of amplifying it.

"This behavior is indicative of their evident misogynistic outlook. We call for immediate action against Radha Krishna and vehemently condemn these leaders for endorsing such toxic and outrageous statements," he added.

Point of View

The ongoing political discourse in Andhra Pradesh reflects a significant struggle between current governance and opposition parties. Jagan Mohan Reddy's remarks against Chandrababu Naidu illustrate a broader narrative of political maneuvering, where personal attacks and media portrayals often overshadow substantive policy discussions. The situation calls for a focus on governance and public welfare over partisan conflicts.
