New Delhi, Nov 8 (NationPress) On Saturday, Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta conducted a rally to support BJP candidate Shree Harjeet Singh Sandhu, who is competing in the Tarn Taran Assembly by-election in Punjab. During her address, she harshly criticized AAP leader Arvind Kejriwal for the state’s escalating debt and deteriorating law and order.

Speaking to a large gathering, she called on voters to support the party’s candidate in the upcoming by-election on November 11.

Highlighting the troubling situation in Punjab, where incidents of murder, extortion, land grabbing, and theft have become increasingly common, CM Gupta pointed out that the responsibility for this decline is well-known.

She remarked that Punjab, once the breadbasket of the nation, is now plagued by drug issues, affecting nearly every family and casting a shadow over the future of the youth.

CM Gupta asserted that the grim circumstances are a direct result of the policies implemented by the Kejriwal-led Punjab government, which promised a “war against drugs” but instead has shielded the systems that perpetuate the crisis.

She challenged the reasons behind Punjab’s severe debt and the drastic decline in its condition.

In her speech, the Delhi Chief Minister emphasized the development initiatives spearheaded by the Central Government under Prime Minister Narendra Modi and showcased the accomplishments of the BJP administration in Delhi through its welfare-focused strategies. She conveyed that this by-election signifies more than just filling a single seat; it is pivotal for Punjab's future and development trajectory.

CM Gupta's visit centered on reinforcing the party's framework in Punjab, strategizing for upcoming political engagements, and rallying support for the Tarn Taran candidate.

She began her day by praying at the Darbar Sahib in Tarn Taran, seeking peace, harmony, and prosperity for the region.

Following this, she visited the Thakurdwara Temple and engaged with local devotees. Delhi Cabinet Minister Manjinder Singh Sirsa accompanied her throughout the visit.

While addressing the crowd, the Chief Minister expressed her happiness at being present on the revered land of Tarn Taran, blessed by Guru Arjun Dev Ji. She asserted that the connection between Punjab and Delhi transcends mere geography; it is deeply rooted in culture, society, and emotion. The people of Punjab, she noted, have significantly contributed to Delhi’s development.

“Governments come and go,” she stated, “but the burden of debt endures on the populace.”

She accused the Kejriwal administration of introducing the “Land Pooling” scheme to seize citizens' lands, a move that had to be revoked due to public backlash.

CM Gupta added that the government is now selling off public lands. “If no new roads, bridges, or colleges have been constructed, where has all the funding disappeared?” she inquired.

She claimed that funds are being misallocated towards corruption, hooliganism, and lavish lifestyles of self-serving leaders.

Just as the Kejriwal administration mismanaged public money in Delhi, she indicated that the same pattern is emerging in Punjab, where the hard-earned resources of the citizens are squandered on personal indulgences.

She questioned the authority of Punjab’s Chief Minister when major administrative decisions are influenced by leaders based in Delhi. “What is Kejriwal’s relationship with Punjab?” she asked.

“He occupies a government bungalow here, transforming it into a ‘Sheeshmahal,’ just as he did in Delhi, at the expense of taxpayers.”
