New Delhi, Feb 20 (NationPress) President Droupadi Murmu has designated BJP MLA-elect Rekha Gupta as the Chief Minister of the National Capital Territory of Delhi. Alongside her, six additional MLAs will take an oath as ministers.

A gazette notification was released by the Union Ministry of Home Affairs on Thursday, stating that the appointments will take effect from the day they are sworn in.

Rekha Gupta, who is a first-time MLA representing Shalimar Bagh, will become Delhi's fourth female chief minister during a significant ceremony at Ramlila Ground.

The notification, signed by Praveen Kumar Rai, joint secretary, states, 'The President is delighted to appoint Mrs. Rekha Gupta as the Chief Minister of the National Capital Territory of Delhi with effect from the date she is sworn in.'

It also lists six MLAs who will be sworn in as ministers:

1) Parvesh Sahib Singh

2) Ashish Sood

3) Manjinder Singh Sinsa

4) Ravinder Indraj Singh

5) Kapil Mishra

6) Pankaj Kumar Singh

According to the notification, these individuals are appointed as Ministers in the National Capital Territory of Delhi, effective from their swearing-in date.

To celebrate the onset of the BJP's governance in the capital, extensive preparations are underway for the grand oath-taking event for the new Chief Minister and ministers, which will be held at Ramlila Maidan. A large crowd is anticipated.

The swearing-in ceremony promises to be a prestigious occasion, with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Union Cabinet, and Chief Ministers from various states expected to attend.

Delhi's CM-designate Rekha Gupta has expressed her appreciation to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the party leadership for their trust, affirming, 'I will meet his expectations.'

'I want to express my gratitude to the party high command, PM Modi, and the citizens of Delhi for their support and choice. A remarkable transformation is about to unfold in Delhi, heralding a golden era for the city... Fulfilling PM Modi's vision and our commitment to the people is my foremost aim...,' she stated.

'PM Narendra Modi has placed great trust in an ordinary party worker and daughter like me. I will rise to his expectations. I am thankful to the party leadership and PM Narendra Modi for showing confidence in a common person like me and granting me such a significant responsibility... My journey can inspire every woman, demonstrating that an ordinary middle-class woman can also ascend to top party leadership...,' Gupta remarked.

In the recent Delhi Assembly elections, the BJP captured 48 out of 70 seats, while the outgoing Aam Aadmi Party secured 22 seats. For the third consecutive time, Congress failed to gain any seats.
