New Delhi, Feb 20 (NationPress) President Droupadi Murmu has designated BJP MLA-elect Rekha Gupta as the Chief Minister of the National Capital Territory of Delhi. Alongside her, six additional MLAs will take an oath as ministers.

A gazette notification was released by the Union Ministry of Home Affairs on Thursday, stating that the appointments will take effect from the day they are sworn in.

Rekha Gupta, who is a first-time MLA representing Shalimar Bagh, will become Delhi's fourth female chief minister during a significant ceremony at Ramlila Ground.

The notification, signed by Praveen Kumar Rai, joint secretary, states, 'The President is delighted to appoint Mrs. Rekha Gupta as the Chief Minister of the National Capital Territory of Delhi with effect from the date she is sworn in.'

It also lists six MLAs who will be sworn in as ministers:

1) Parvesh Sahib Singh

2) Ashish Sood

3) Manjinder Singh Sinsa

4) Ravinder Indraj Singh

5) Kapil Mishra

6) Pankaj Kumar Singh

According to the notification, these individuals are appointed as Ministers in the National Capital Territory of Delhi, effective from their swearing-in date.

In the recent Delhi Assembly elections, the BJP captured 48 out of 70 seats, while the outgoing Aam Aadmi Party secured 22 seats. For the third consecutive time, Congress failed to gain any seats.
