Patna, March 7 (NationPress) The arrival of religious preacher Dhirendra Krishna Shastri, widely known as Baba Bageshwar, in Bihar's Gopalganj district has ignited a political uproar. RJD legislator Bhai Virendra has raised concerns about the timing of this visit, accusing the BJP and its leaders of leveraging spiritual figures for political gain as the Assembly elections approach.
He asserted that while BJP leaders may bring in any Baba, the citizens of Bihar are more focused on securing jobs rather than engaging with spiritual leaders.
"The people of Bihar, irrespective of caste or religion, seek employment opportunities for their children. Hence, it is essential for Tejashwi Yadav to become the Chief Minister," Bhai Virendra emphasized.
"I do not wish to criticize anyone, but it's evident that these Babas have been dispatched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The BJP-NDA is introducing them to Bihar with elections looming," he claimed.
Bhai Virendra further indicated that the BJP's religious tactics would not succeed in Bihar.
"Regardless of how many Babas may visit, the populace of Bihar continues to grapple with issues such as corruption, unemployment, and inflation. They will rise above caste, religion, and political affiliations to elect Tejashwi Yadav as Bihar's Chief Minister," he stated.
During his 'Pravachan' in Gopalganj, Baba Bageshwar promoted the idea of a Hindu Rashtra, intensifying the ongoing political discourse in Bihar.
Bhai Virendra firmly opposed this notion, arguing, "Those advocating for a Hindu nation should first study history. During the British Raj, people from diverse castes and communities laid down their lives for India’s freedom."
"You cannot alter the Constitution," he added, warning that any attempts could lead to widespread chaos and disorder.
When questioned about political strategist Prashant Kishor possibly running for the Raghopur Assembly seat to directly challenge Tejashwi Yadav, Bhai Virendra dismissed any concerns.
"In a democracy, anyone has the right to contest elections from any constituency," he mentioned.
With elections approaching in the eastern state, the RJD is strategizing to prioritize employment and development to counter the BJP's Hindutva narrative.
Political analysts predict that the exchange of remarks between the primary parties involved in the elections will escalate in the coming days.
