Patna, Jan 13 (NationPress) The protests against Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar during his Pragati Yatra and the BPSC-related matters have garnered substantial political attention, creating unrest. The Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) has intervened to advocate for the liberation of students and youth who were detained on Monday.

A prominent delegation headed by Abdul Bari Siddiqui, the RJD's national general secretary, convened with Arvind Chaudhary, the Additional Chief Secretary of the Home Department, to press for action on this matter.

The delegation presented a memorandum outlining three primary demands. The RJD leaders called for the immediate release of students and youths apprehended for engaging in protests across the state.

The RJD insisted on the unconditional release of all students and youths arrested while participating in peaceful protests throughout Bihar. The party urged a complete halt to the arrest of individuals partaking in non-violent and democratic demonstrations.

An unbiased investigation was requested into the police's inappropriate conduct, including accusations of excessive force and misuse of power, during protests in regions such as Madhubani, Chhapra, and Samastipur.

The memorandum highlighted the necessity for the state government and law enforcement to uphold the constitutional rights of citizens, especially concerning peaceful dissent.

RJD spokesperson Chittaranjan Gagan criticized the government for initiating false cases against protesters and imprisoning them, labeling such actions as undemocratic.

"In a democracy, citizens possess the constitutional right to challenge policies they believe to be unjust or detrimental. The government is stifling dissent," Gagan stated.

The delegation included several senior officials, such as Abdul Bari Siddiqui, National General Secretary, Uday Narayan Chaudhary, National Vice President, Bhola Yadav, National General Secretary, Binu Yadav, State Vice President, Ashok Kumar Singh, State Vice President, Dr. Tanveer Hasan, and Mrityunjay Tiwari, State Spokesperson.

In response to the memorandum, the Additional Chief Secretary assured the delegation that he would collect detailed information regarding the cases and take suitable action based on the demands specified in the memorandum.
