Key Takeaways
Mumbai, Feb 8 (NationPress) The chief of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), Mohan Bhagwat, rejected claims on Sunday that the organization is remotely influencing the government. He reaffirmed the commitment of the sevaks to back the government whenever it is necessary.
During the second day of the Mumbai Vyakhyanmala lecture series, commemorating the “100 Years of Sangh Journey,” Bhagwat stated, "We do not partake in backseat driving. The governance is managed by those in charge of the government."
In addition to denying any interference in the BJP-led administration, the RSS chief reiterated the organization’s dedication to national service and its readiness to support governmental initiatives.
The RSS Sarsanghchalak also discussed topics such as retirement and his lifelong commitment to national service, asserting, “My dedication to the nation will persist even post-retirement.”
Bhagwat underscored the importance of global unity among Hindus, citing alleged injustices faced by the 1.25 crore-strong community in Bangladesh.
He emphasized that a united global Hindu front would eliminate the need for reliance on external forces to advocate for their rights and challenges worldwide.
The RSS chief reaffirmed his faith in the “three-child” principle, which he connected to traditional wisdom and medical science. He stressed that demographic stability is vital, with scriptures and medical research supporting a three-child family model for societal health and equilibrium.
In a rallying call to citizens to engage with governmental initiatives, he urged people to abandon the “I don’t care” mindset and to stay vigilant against both internal and external threats.
He referenced the recent terror blast near the Red Fort, noting that social awareness enhances intelligence gathering, suggesting that while intelligence agencies identified the terror cell, the prevention was hindered by a lack of community vigilance.
On Saturday, in the event's inaugural session, the RSS chief declared that India’s trade agreements should be established strictly on its own terms, without external pressures. “We cannot withdraw from the global arena, but the agreements must align with our terms. We will not concede to outside pressure or tariff considerations.”
Without specifying any country or leader, he remarked, “We are observing the actions of superpowers. We do not aspire to be the intimidators; as Vishwaguru, we aim to lead from within and set an example for the world.”
