Spanning an impressive 45 acres at the historic Jail Grounds in Gandhipuram, this world-class park was inaugurated by Chief Minister M.K. Stalin on November 25 and is now prepared to welcome visitors with a plethora of cultural, educational, and recreational attractions.
Designed to honor Tamil's classical linguistic heritage while providing modern amenities, the park boasts an extensive array of themed gardens. Guests will be greeted by a stunning entrance featuring a cascading waterfall. One of the standout features is the vast rose garden, which showcases over 1,000 varieties of roses, alongside a well-curated herbal garden and a lush woodland area.
To enrich the educational experience, QR codes are strategically placed throughout the park, enabling visitors to learn about each plant and tree species. Additional amenities include a 500-seat open-air theatre for cultural performances, an open-air gym equipped with top-notch facilities, smooth walking paths, over 100 stone benches, and decorative lighting that enhances the park's beauty at night.
A dedicated play area has also been created for children with disabilities, ensuring inclusivity in recreational activities.
Entry fees have been set to be affordable: Rs 15 per adult, Rs 5 for children under 10, and Rs 100 monthly for regular users of the walking tracks.
