In a message commending the security forces for their achievement in neutralizing 31 Maoists in Bijapur, Chhattisgarh, the Home Minister also honored the two courageous soldiers who sacrificed their lives during the operation.
In a post on X, Home Minister Shah stated: "The security forces have attained a significant victory in their mission to make India Naxal-free, with 31 Naxalites eliminated and a substantial cache of arms and explosives seized during the operation."
"In the fight against anti-human Naxalism, we mourn the loss of two valiant soldiers. The nation will forever be grateful to these heroes," wrote HM Shah, extending his condolences to the families of the fallen soldiers.
Highlighting the advancements made over the past year in Chhattisgarh, HM Shah noted the reduction in Maoist activities, which includes the neutralization of several high-ranking cadres.
"Remarkable actions have been undertaken under the guidance of the Chhattisgarh government, employing a well-conceived strategy. I am confident that we will completely eliminate LWE from the nation by March 31, 2026," he asserted.
HM Shah specifically commended the leadership of Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai and Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Sharma, along with the relentless efforts of the state police and other security forces.
"The collaborative efforts of the Chhattisgarh government, police, and security agencies have established a solid foundation for this initiative. I assure everyone that the aim of a LWE-free state will be achieved within the designated timeline," he reiterated.
HM Shah mentioned that when Prime Minister Narendra Modi entrusted him with the role of Home Minister in 2019, he believed that those involved in armed struggles should be offered a chance to surrender and live peacefully.
"As a result of our initiatives, 20 peace accords were signed in the northeast and 9,000 militants laid down their arms," he said.
He further noted that PM Modi approved the construction of 15,000 homes for surrendered Maoists under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, while the National Dairy Development Board would supply at least one cow or buffalo to these families to help them earn Rs 15,000 to Rs 20,000 monthly.
