Mumbai, Jan 23 (NationPress) Shiv Sena leader and Maharashtra's Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde criticized his previous leader and Shiv Sena-UBT chief Uddhav Thackeray on Thursday, asserting that those who have forsaken Balasaheb Thackeray's ideology are in a position where they cannot even endure or express their views.

"We have upheld Balasaheb's principles. We have never strayed from them. This is the reason behind our remarkable victory," he proclaimed to a roaring crowd at a rally commemorating the birth anniversary of Shiv Sena's founder, the late Balasaheb Thackeray, celebrating the party's significant win in the state assembly election.

Shinde further remarked, addressing Uddhav Thackeray: "It requires courage to contest elections independently. You cannot win elections while remaining at home. That approach is futile."

He also criticized Uddhav for claiming he would create a memorial that would undermine Balasaheb's legacy.

"You contested 97 assembly seats and secured only 20 victories. We competed for 80 seats and triumphed in 60. Now, whose Shiv Sena is authentic? The populace has already rendered their judgment," he commented.

"The movement we initiated two and a half years ago and our subsequent historic triumph are being acknowledged globally. This achievement is rooted in Balasaheb Thackeray's ideology. It stems from the unity of MahaYuti. This success is a result of hard work, dedication, and the relentless efforts for our cherished sisters, brothers, elders, youth, and farmers," Shinde expressed.

He continued: "In these two and a half years, we remained grounded. We did not squander a single moment, which is why we emerged victorious. We amplified development efforts fourfold. We implemented people-centric schemes and fostered development simultaneously. This is why the citizens of the state placed their trust in us. I humbly bow before the people and express gratitude to them."

"You demonstrated your faith in me, allowing me, the son of a humble farmer, to ascend as the Chief Minister of the state," he added.

"Balasaheb instilled the value of self-respect. Assess my contributions over the past two and a half years. While some may equate CM with Chief Minister, I say CM stands for Common Man. With Devendra Fadnavis as CM, I am DCM, which signifies Dedicated to the Common Man," he stated.

"Our self-respect holds greater significance than any position. This lesson was imparted to us by Balasaheb. You may achieve the status of an MLA, MP, or minister, but never forget that you are a Shiv Sainik of Balasaheb Thackeray," he emphasized.

In addition, he announced the party’s membership drive, urging the party workers to prepare for the forthcoming local and civic body elections to sustain their victorious momentum.
