Mumbai, March 23 (NationPress) Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Nirupam on Sunday advocated for a more thorough investigation into the Disha Salian case, following a petition submitted to the Bombay High Court and an FIR against Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Aaditya Thackeray.

However, he stressed that this case should not be associated with the death of Sushant Singh Rajput.

This announcement follows the CBI's closure report on Saturday, which eliminated any suspicion of foul play in Sushant Singh Rajput's suicide, absolving Rhea Chakraborty and her family.

In the meantime, the Bombay High Court is scheduled to hear a petition on April 2 from Satish Salian, the father of the deceased Disha Salian, which names Aditya Thackeray and others in an FIR.

During a press conference, Nirupam stated, "After Sushant Singh Rajput's suicide, the CBI was assigned to investigate, and now they have submitted a closure report. Everyone should acknowledge this and refrain from making unwarranted claims. Nonetheless, the Disha Salian case should remain separate from Sushant Singh's case."

Commenting on allegations that Disha was raped and murdered, he said, "Just days before Sushant's death, Disha Salian was discovered dead. Presently, there are accusations that she was raped and murdered, with her body found unclothed. Her father has initiated a petition naming Aditya Thackeray as a suspect in the rape and murder. No father would make such allegations regarding his own daughter without basis."

He urged the court to take notice of the situation and direct the Mumbai Police to conduct an investigation.

Additionally, senior BJP leader Narayan Rane alleged that Uddhav Thackeray's secretary, Milind Narvekar, had contacted him twice, asking to exclude Aditya Thackeray's name from the Disha Salian case.

In response, Nirupam remarked, "Yesterday, Narayan Rane claimed that Uddhav Thackeray reached out to him to protect his son. This raises doubts and implies a crime has occurred. I call on the High Court to initiate an inquiry into this matter."

Nevertheless, the Shiv Sena (UBT) dismissed these claims as unfounded. Party leader Sanjay Raut responded, "No such calls were made by anyone. There is a limit to dishonesty. Narvekar did not contact anyone."

The forthcoming Bombay High Court hearing regarding Satish Salian's plea is anticipated to be a pivotal moment in the case, as the court will scrutinize the circumstances surrounding Disha Salian's death.

Disha Salian, who was Sushant Singh Rajput's former manager, reportedly died by suicide on June 8, 2020, after falling from the 14th floor of a high-rise in Mumbai. The Mumbai Police registered an Accidental Death Report (ADR) at that time.

Six days later, on June 14, Sushant Singh Rajput was found dead in his residence in Bandra. While the CBI took over the investigation into his death, the Maharashtra government established a Special Investigation Team (SIT) in 2023 to look into Disha Salian's case.

Meanwhile, Shiv Sena (UBT) has called for a CBI investigation into Disha's death, with party legislators questioning whether former Mumbai Mayor Kishori Pednekar pressured her family.
