Mumbai, July 3 (NationPress) Following the Mumbai Police's recent statement to the Bombay High Court, which affirmed that Disha Salian, the former manager of actor Sushant Singh Rajput, died by suicide without any foul play, Shiv Sena UBT legislator and ex-minister Aaditya Thackeray remarked on Thursday that attempts to tarnish his reputation have been made by certain individuals over the past five years.
“I have never engaged with them, and I will maintain that stance. I will refrain from discussing a matter that I am not associated with nor possess knowledge about,” he stated.
Earlier today, Sanjay Raut, a Shiv Sena (UBT) MP, called for an apology from Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and Minister Nitesh Rane for their comments regarding Aaditya Thackeray in relation to Disha Salian's death.
“The police report has unequivocally indicated that Aaditya Thackeray had no role in Disha Salian's demise. Nonetheless, authority has been misused to tarnish his image and demean him,” Raut asserted.
He went on to demand that Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis issue a formal apology to Thackeray. “(BJP MP) Narayan Rane's son, (Nitesh Rane), who is also a Cabinet minister, should apologize not only to Aaditya Thackeray but also to the entire populace of Maharashtra,” he emphasized.
Nitesh Rane had previously requested Thackeray's resignation as an MLA in connection with the Disha Salian case.
In response to the police's statement before the court, Yogesh Kadam, Minister of State for Home, remarked, “The investigation is still ongoing. No closure report has been submitted yet.”
Disha Salian passed away on June 8, 2020, at a residential complex in suburban Malad. Sushant Singh Rajput died six days later, on June 14, at his residence in Bandra, which was subsequently ruled a suicide.
Disha's father, Satish Salian, filed a petition in the Bombay High Court in March this year, requesting a probe by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) into his daughter's death and an FIR against Aaditya Thackeray, alleging a cover-up to safeguard influential individuals.

Pawar urged the government to take action against those culpable for a “deliberate attempt to mislead the public for political advantage.”
BJP leader and former minister Sudhir Mungantiwar, however, defended the government and law enforcement agencies.
“The government does not exert pressure on investigative agencies. The police undertake inquiries based on evidence and facts. It seems that Opposition leaders hold biases against the state government. I hope they will soon come to terms with their misunderstandings,” he concluded.
