Mumbai, March 22 (NationPress) BJP MP and former Union minister Narayan Rane asserted on Saturday that during the tenure of the Maha Vikas Aghadi government, former chief minister Uddhav Thackeray contacted him twice, urging him not to mention former minister Aaditya Thackeray in relation to the Disha Salian death case.

He alleged there was an effort to conceal the details surrounding Disha Salian's death while the Maha Vikas Aghadi held power in Maharashtra.

“With no pressure on Disha's father now, he has sought justice through the court. The police's involvement in this case raises questions, as he has also inquired why no action was taken despite possessing evidence,” Rane stated.

He further claimed that former mayor Kishori Pednekar exerted pressure on Disha Salian’s father, which coerced him from speaking further on the matter. Rane, who departed from Shiv Sena due to disagreements with Uddhav Thackeray, accused suspended police officer Sachin Vaze of being responsible for the suppression of the case. He insisted that the government should file a new FIR and apprehend the perpetrators.

Expressing that Disha's father has called for accountability against the negligent police officers, Rane demanded that the Police Commissioner take action against those responsible for the delays and suspend the guilty parties. “Disha Salian must be granted justice, and the offenders should face severe punishment,” he insisted.

Rane’s remarks come shortly after the court accepted the petition from Disha Salian’s father, who claimed that his daughter was raped and murdered, and is seeking a CBI investigation. He has also implicated former minister Aaditya Thackeray and former mayor Kishori Pednekar in his petition.

The MahaYuti criticized Shiv Sena UBT demanding the arrest of Aaditya Thackeray and his questioning in the case.

Conversely, Aaditya Thackeray alleged that there has been a persistent campaign to tarnish his image over the past five years, stating that the issue has been raised deliberately to distract the public from key matters, especially after the RSS labeled Aurangzeb's grave a non-issue.

Moreover, Shiv Sena UBT chief Uddhav Thackeray cautioned that those spreading falsehoods regarding the Disha Salian death case may face repercussions. “Our family has been in the public eye for six to seven generations. Therefore, these allegations lack truth. There is no connection to the Disha Salian case. I want to warn those spreading lies that it could backfire on them,” he remarked.
