New Delhi, April 25 (NationPress) Rajya Sabha member Kapil Sibal on Friday urged Prime Minister Narendra Modi to call a special session of Parliament aimed at passing a unanimous resolution against terrorism, clearly demonstrating India's united stance to the global arena.

During a press briefing held on Friday, Sibal stated, “A unanimous resolution must be enacted — one that distinctly articulates the nation’s sentiment to the world — that we stand united with the government, that the entire country is together in the fight against terrorism, and that we will not tolerate such acts. There should be no debate on this.”

He proposed that following the adoption of such a resolution, delegations should be dispatched to key global powers to garner support.

“We must inform nations that engage in trade with Pakistan that they will not gain access to our market if they continue doing business with a country that harbors terrorism. The US utilizes such leverage — why can’t we? Even if there’s a minor economic cost, the nation will stand united,” the eminent lawyer remarked.

Reflecting on Pakistan’s enduring policy, Sibal noted, “In 1972, Zulfikar Ali Bhutto stated, ‘We will bleed India with a thousand cuts.’ Since then, terrorists have consistently infiltrated our borders and executed attacks.”

He emphasized that the BJP, being the ruling party, has the obligation to convey a robust, unified message. “Some of the statements being made now are playing into Pakistan’s hands, and regrettably, mainstream media is amplifying them. Even some senior BJP leaders are, perhaps unknowingly, reinforcing Pakistan’s narrative. A cohesive message from Parliament will put an end to this.”

Expressing his agreement with a recent statement by RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat, Sibal remarked, “One thing Mohan Bhagwat ji said that resonates with me: ‘If we stand united, our voice will be heard; if we are divided, disputes will follow.’ After Pulwama, what transpired should not be repeated.”

He also criticized Prime Minister Modi for missing an all-party meeting. “It would have been better had the Prime Minister attended the all-party meeting. Perhaps he felt his rally in Bihar was more significant,” he concluded.
