Bengaluru, July 5 (NationPress) In response to Chief Minister Siddaramaiah's assertion linking the swift Covid vaccination rollout to an uptick in heart attack incidents, BJP leader D. V. Sadananda Gowda refuted the claim on Saturday, noting that Siddaramaiah was one of the first individuals to receive the vaccine and is in excellent health.
Gowda mockingly remarked, "The good health that Siddaramaiah has presumably gained from the Covid vaccine is what he now cites as his reason for believing he can serve a full five-year term as Chief Minister and even steer the Congress to victory in the upcoming elections."
"As soon as the vaccination initiative commenced, Siddaramaiah rushed to the center for his shot. Nothing adverse has occurred to him. We genuinely hope it remains that way," Gowda added.
However, he advised CM Siddaramaiah to practice caution in his statements.
When questioned about Minister Priyank Kharge's comments regarding the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), Gowda firmly stated that banning the RSS is utterly unfeasible.
In light of the recent surge in sudden heart attack fatalities in Hassan district, Siddaramaiah suggested on July 1 that the expedited approval and distribution of the Covid vaccine might be a contributing factor to these deaths.
CM Siddaramaiah expressed, "In just the past month, over 20 individuals in Hassan district have succumbed to heart attacks. The government is taking this issue very seriously."
He added, "It cannot be dismissed that the rapid approval and distribution of the Covid vaccine might also be a cause for these fatalities, as numerous global studies have recently indicated a correlation between Covid vaccinations and an increase in heart attack cases."
Responding to this statement, Kiran Majumdar Shaw remarked that, "The Covid-19 vaccines developed in India received approval under the Emergency Use Authorization framework, adhering to strict protocols aligned with international standards for safety and efficacy. To claim these vaccines were ‘hastily’ approved is factually incorrect and fuels public misinformation."
In response to Shaw's comments, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah clarified that seeking clarity does not equate to disseminating misinformation.
