Jammu, Jan 27 (NationPress) Four Army soldiers were injured on Monday due to a road mishap in the Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir, according to officials.

Officials stated, "The injured soldiers were promptly rescued with assistance from local residents and transported to a hospital for medical attention."

Previously, on December 24 of the prior year, five soldiers lost their lives and eight others were injured in a similar incident in Poonch when an Army vehicle skidded and plunged into a deep gorge.

In light of recent terrorist actions, the Army and security forces have heightened surveillance along the Line of Control and within the hinterland.

On October 20, 2024, two terrorists infiltrated a workers' camp in the Gagangir region of Ganderbal.

This attack resulted in the death of seven civilians, including six non-local laborers from an infrastructure firm and a local physician.

One of the terrorists involved in the Gagangir incident was subsequently neutralized by security personnel in the Harwan area of Srinagar.

On October 24, 2024, terrorists ambushed an Army vehicle in the Botapathri area of Gulmarg, leading to the deaths of three Army soldiers and two civilian porters.

On November 2 of last year, a grenade was thrown by terrorists at the crowded Sunday Market near the tourist reception area in Srinagar, resulting in the death of a 42-year-old mother of three and injuries to 11 other civilians.

The Jammu and Kashmir Police later apprehended associates of the terrorists responsible for the grenade attack, who hailed from the Ikhrajpora locality of Srinagar.

All these violent incidents occurred following peaceful and participative Lok Sabha and Assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir.

Intelligence sources believe that handlers orchestrating terrorism from across the border in Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir instructed terrorists to execute these attacks in response to the significant public engagement in the democratic process in Jammu and Kashmir.
